Rajat Jain currently leads Neva Garments Ltd (www.nevaindia.com), a leader in Thermal wear in India for several years as its Executive Vice Chairman of the Board. Neva is part of the DUKE group of Companies which owns the Duke and Neva brands, both leaders in T Shirts and Thermals segments in India. He has come into the company to help professionalize the management and expand the operations, build a team, scale up the operations and lead it to an eventual transaction in the rapidly growing Indian branded consumer apparel market.
Rajat has also recently started his own entrepreneurial venture in the startup incubation space called PadUp Ventures (www.padup.in ) with two other partners, focusing on providing startup advisory services to early stage tech companies in India and helping them grow successfully to the next level to raise Series A capital.
He is also a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Xerox India and was till recently its Managing Director (www.xerox.co.in). In his three years of operational leadership, the company turned around to profitability and was put onto a strong platform for growth. Now he continues on the Board advising and providing strategic guidance to the business and the management team. He is also a Non-Executive Director on the Boards of Times Innovative Media (TIM), a Bennet Colman (Times of India) Group Company and TIM Delhi Airport Advertising (TIMDAA), a JV between TIM and the GMR group.
He has worked in the consumer, media & entertainment, technology and telecom sectors in India, both at young stage companies and MNCs. His key areas of expertise include understanding consumers across various spaces, building and working with teams and growing businesses that revolve around services & brands. He brings to his companies, organizations and partners a wealth of over two and a half decades of experience and multi-functional expertise, a strong industry & market knowledge and an enviable industry network.
Previously, Rajat was the Chairman and MD of the Board of Mobile2win (www.mobile2win.com), a leading Mobile Value Added Services provider in India, which he built and invested in and merged it later with a larger player. Rajat is on the Board of Advisors of CyberPlat India (www.cyberplat.in), a $7 Bn Russian versatile multi banking integrated payment system providing a range of financial services – from micro payments and cash collections to interbank settlements
Lastly, Rajat has been actively engaged in the development and restoration of the Braj Region (4000 sq km spread across UP, Rajasthan and Haryana HQed at Vrindavan, near Delhi), the Land of Lord Krishna, and has been a Trustee of The Braj Foundation (www.brajfoundation.or), a “Not For Profit” NGO, founded in 2005, and now its Vice Chairman.
In his earlier corporate career of two decades until 2007, prior to M2W, he was a Global SVP and the Managing Director of Walt Disney India and successfully brought the brand to India by launching the leading kids TV network as well as laid the foundation of building the “Disney” brand in India. Prior to Disney, Rajat built out Sony MAX, a leading cricket and movies TV network of the Sony Corporation. Rajat has also held senior management positions with the Essel Group, Modi Telstra, Benckiser and Hindustan Lever. He is a Management Postgraduate from IIM, Ahmedabad and a B Tech from IIT, Delhi.
